Some potential causes for swelling of one hand (asymmetric swelling):  Systemic causes include early-onset RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis), OA (osteoarthritis), polymyalgia rheumatica, sarcoidosis, Kawasaki and Takayasu diseases, and psoriatic and juvenile arthritis.
